KPERS Pension “Millionaires”

‘Millionaires’ are KPERS retirees who will collect at least $1,000,000 over their first 20 years of retirement, calculated using the sum of monthly payments received in 2023 plus lump-sum payments since 2014, and in a few cases, for 2013.  With a few exceptions, lump-sum payments made prior to 2014 cannot be matched with current monthly payments, so there could be more KPERS ‘Millionaires’ than listed here.  State law prohibits the release of retiree and beneficiary names, so each recipient is identified as a Member or Beneficiary of a Member. The agency listed is the one that last employed the individual.  Data obtained in Open Records requests.
